Download iOS 8.1 ( 3 methods)

Ultimately the long anticipated iOS 8.1 has arrived. It brought some new features as well as some bug fixes and performance enhancements. Apple Pay is a major new feature with new firmware and it can be used only devices with NFC chips, i.e. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Older devices cannot use the Apple Pay system at present.
After Apple removed Camera Roll from iOS 8, it makes a return with iOS 8.1. How to install iOS 8.1 :There are three (03) methods to install the latest iOS 8.1 update.

Method 1 – over-the-air (OTA)
This is the smallest and fastest download method. But this should not be used if you are anticipating to jailbreak iOS 8.1 when the new jailbreak tool released.
  • Open the Settingsapp and tap on General. 
  • Then tap on Software Update and wait until your iPhone or iPad look for the latest iOS 8.1 update.
  • Once iOS 8.1 Tap on Download and Install.
  • Be patient until your device update and reboot.

Method 2 – iTunes
This is the preferred method for jailbreakers. If you are having issues with Wi-Fi connection on your device, this method is and is also perfect for you.
  • First connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC and then open iTunes.
  • Then open the Device Summary and scroll down to the Back Up section. Then click on Back Up Now.

  • Once the backup has been successfully completed, click on Check for Updates.

  • Allow iTunes to search for the new update
  • Then click on Download and Install.
  • Finally wait till iTunes updates your device to iOS 8.1. Then it will reboot onto new firmware.
Method 3 – iTunes with IPSW
This is the longest method, however it is always successful.
  • First download the IPSW link given below that matches to your device.
  • Then connect your PC and device together and open the iTunes. 

  • Then back up the data in your device.

  • Windows users should hold down the SHIFTkey and Mac users should hold down Option Then click on Update in the iTunes.

  • Then locate the IPSW you have just downloaded and click on it.

  • Finally allows the iTunes to update your device to iOS 8.1.
