Steps to download and activate third party keyboards in iOS 8

Newly introduced iOS 8 allow you to use third-party keyboards on your iPhones and iPads. So now you can just download a third-party keyboard according to your choice from the App Store and activate it. That’s it. You are about to experience the customized keyboard.  

Steps to download and activate third party keyboards in iOS 8


1. First go to the App Store and download or purchase the keyboard app you wish to use.
2. Then launch the keyboard app that you have just downloaded.
3. Sometimes you may be prompted to install a keyboard extension, if it does not install automatically.

4. Then launch the “Settings” app of your iPhone or iPad.


5. Then tap on “General”, select “Keyboard”, tap on “Keyboards” tab at the top and tap on “Add New Keyboard”.
6. Then go to the “Third-Party Keyboards”, and tap on the keyboard name you wish to use.


7. Then tap on “Edit” button at the top.
8. Finally drag the selected keyboard to the top of the list, then it will be your default keyboard.
9. Now you can use the newly installed third party keyboard.


When you need to quickly switch between keyboards in iOS 8, first pull up a keyboard in any app. Then you have to tap and hold on the “Globe” key as shown in the image. Then you can tap on the keyboard name of your choice. By doing so, you can quickly switch between keyboards.
